California's state government is a complex entity with two distinct branches: the legislative, judicial, and executive. The legislative branch, made up of by the State Assembly and Senate, is responsible for passing laws. The executive branch, headed by the Governor, administers state agencies. Finally, the judicial branch, presided over the courts
